♥I am a TEACHER♥

I have received two calls from two companies today… one of which came from the company I’ve been wanting to work with. I should have been happy, I should’ve been thrilled but unfortunately, I declined because I am currently employed… I am currenly a teacher.

I felt discontented… I was sad. And much to my dismay, my advisory class weren’t making things a lil’ bit easier these past few days because of their being stubborn. 

I was trying my best to be happy though 

but I was totally heart-wrecked. 

Also, I’ve learned that today was Teachers’ Day. Another ordinary day, I thought. But I was surprised when my students, whom I have given the cold shoulder treatment for almost a week, gave me dozens of letters which say their sorry’s and thank you’s. I was touched!! :))

Though I may not have received too many a gift, I may not have the job offer I’ve been waiting for… I am still joyful because I know that I am a part of those few who are chosen to be an instrument of molding these young minds and that is simply PRICELESS. ;)

YOU DON’T KNOW ME?! Now you’ll do! :)

Most of the blog I read have a post that goes something like “100 Things You Don’t Know About Me”, it’s quite a trend whether it be in blogs or other social networking sites and I want to try out this one. But being my usual ‘I-want-to-do-it-differently’ self, I”ll do my best to make mine bit different so I’ll have a hundred less than one. 99 things that is. :) Here it goes and I do hope you’ll find time to read this.

1. I’m a Born-Again Christian since I was 5 y/o.

2. My name Karla is the German/ Scandinavian form of the name Charles which means strong and womanly while my 2nd name Marie is the French, Czech and German form of Maria which means bitter sea.

3. I was referred to as Cat woman when I was in grade school and Mickey Mouse when I was in high school. Ironic eh?

4. I love learning new things. As they say ‘Jack of All Trades, Master of None’ but in this case, it’s Jill. :))

5. I don’t sleep with my lights off, it’s not that I’m afraid of the dark, I just don’t like it when I can’t see anything when I wake up in the middle of the night to pee.

6. I had a friend who committed suicide to which I partly blame myself for.

7. And I still feel guilty as ever when I think of her death.

8. When I was in 2nd grade, I tripped off the stage while dancing because I was covering my leg scars afraid that my classmates will see it and laugh at me (and they did laugh at me, so much covering up).

9. The right side of my neck was stitched when I climbed our gate because I was not allowed to play outside til 3:00 pm.

10. I once told my elementary classmate that I was possessed by an evil monkey.

11. I love dancing and was part of the (high) school dance troupe though it looks awkward for me to dance.

12. Sometimes I get annoyed with some friends for no reason at all and when I do, that means they’re special to me.

13. When someone close to me lied, I usually find it out through dreams.

14. I’ve always wanted to join singing contests but never had the guts to audition.

15. I’m fond of using code names (e.g takoyaki mantleman, destiny, puchy) for my crushes.

16. When I was a Sophomore high I planned of joining a sorority in college.

17. I hate math!

18. I twirl my hair when I’m nervous.

19. I’m ill-tempered but I’m working on it. *wink*

20. I love singing and I usually do it while taking a bath. And before I go to the bathroom I make it sure that the TV’s volume is loud. :)

21. I feel a sense of motherhood every time my nephew calls me ‘Mama’ without having to force him.

22. I freak out when I see cockroaches, worms, centipedes, leeches and millipedes. Even the thought of them makes me squint! Eew! And when I see one, I kill it in a very sadistic way (read: pouring muriatic acid on ‘em). *witchy laugh*

23. I usually get involve with guys younger than I, boys of my age aren’t my type.

24. If worrying can make someone rich, I would probably be a billionaire by now.

25. You’ll know I woke up at the wrong side of the bed when I don’t sing nor hum.

26. I got awards when I was in elementary and even made it in the Honor Roll.

27. I’m not good in drawing but I believe I have this thingy called ‘Artistic Inclination’. (Just take a peek at my scrapbook) yeah! :))

28. I get itchy easily.

29. I don’t like eating hot food. It’s like eating without malfunctioned taste buds, I don’t taste it.

30. And I don’t drink cold beverages either.

31. I love collecting perfumes because every scent brings flashbacks of the past.

32. I fight for what I believe in even if I know I might be hated for it.

33. I received my first ever love letter when I was 14 y/0. It was from a suitor-turned-stalker who called himself the mysterious Mr. Blue.. hahaha! Oh yes, I kept it.

34. When I was a kid, my friend and I once bought cigars, lit it up and pretended to be villains belting orders to our ‘servants’. Good thing we didn’t inhale the smoke.

35. I love eating chicken intestines or isaw or IUD or whatever you wanna call it. yum!

36. One of my dreams is to be a housewife.

37. My cousin, Mac, and I love to talk to each other in Brit accent and it’s only the two of us in the fam who do that.

38. I love talking. :) I never run out of stories but then if I do that means I’m not comfortable talking to you.

39. I’m afraid of heights and closed areas. I nearly fainted when my friends and I attempted to climb a mountain way back in high school.

40. I cover my nose every time I ride on a bus afraid that I might vomit the moment I step in it, I guess it has something to do with my being claustrophobic.

41. I don’t like the smell of air fresheners, they make me dizzy.

42. The people I misjudge are usually the ones I get close to.

43. I don’t believe in Santa anymore but my giant Christmas sock is still hanging in my window til now.

44. I had the chance to watch a meteor shower and got to see only 23 of them. But man, it was awesome!

45. I used to engage in witchcraft. *bad* I even did one called ‘Spell of the red cloth’ which is said to make your love interest fall head-over-heels in love with you. Obviously, it did not work. ;p

46. The first viand I learned to cook is Adobo and I can’t perfect it up to this date.

47. I’m a feminist and I believe that everyone should be treated equally regardless of anything that you may take into account for.

48. I had my first crush when I was in Kindergarten and I can still remember his name up to now. *Joseph Andrew Molina*

49. I had my first boyfriend when I was 16.

50. My first kiss was gross.

51. And until now, I only have one ex (btw, I’m 22).

52. I love driving motorcycles even when I’m wearing my uniform (which is a skirt) and I haven’t seen anyone else in my university who does the same.

53. I won 2nd place in our high school spelling bee which partly made me a self-confessed ‘Spelling Freak’.

54. I’m not a racist that’s why I can’t understand why others depend their judgment according to one’s skin color and nationality.

55. I don’t get it why men don’t comprehend that it’s natural for women to talk and talk and talk when angry.

56. I can’t sleep when I don’t have three pillows in the bed.

57. I pray before I go to sleep and sometimes the ‘amen’ part follows in the morning when I wake up.

58. I’m used to hearing people shout at me and it doesn’t bother me whether they did it out of anger.

59. I sometimes feel stupid when talking to people specially when I know they’re good in speaking the English language though I myself is a teacher of English. :p

60. A certified cam whore.

61. I’m a frustrated model and musician.

62. I was once a very trusting soul but it changed when I got hypnotized and robbed by a stranger.

63. Whenever I run for the position of Muse, I lose, with the winner having a ten-vote lead. Quite frustrating eh? LOL. :)

64. I like it when babies cry. *evil laugh*

65. There’s only one person in this world who knows everything about me.

66. Though it’s been years ago, it still hurts to remember that my former best friend left me because I failed to go to her 18th birthday.

67. I cut my hair when I’m depressed.

68. I’m a late bloomer and was once a fashion victim in the very essence of the word.

69. I don’t like dancing in bars/ clubs and I haven’t done that.

70. My knees tremble when I hear or see the word ‘SALE’.

71. I’m insomniac.

72. I’m a kid at heart.

73. And a cry baby.

74. I haven’t tasted the “ostiya” (dunno if I spelled it right).

75. One of my talents is mimicking other people. So beware, you might be my next victim. 

76. I can’t live a day without baby powder. (It’s one of the greatest human invention!)

77. I’d like to know how to play basketball but I can’t seem to coordinate dribbling with running.

78. My favorite top is the one I have since I was in Grade 6, it’s a white, super worn- out, almost see-through, Tweet blouse. I love to use it specially when sleeping. ;)

79. I love being in love.

80. It takes me several minutes to make a simple decision.

81. It maybe for the reason that I unconsciously make simple things complex.

82. My cousin and I once stole a small pack of Smarties in a grocery store because of a bet.

83. I don’t wear clothes from Guess ever since I was told that their inverted triangle trademark is bad.

84. I believe in ‘happily ever after’.

85. You’ll know I’m lying when I bite my lips and twitch my eye brows.

86. I love history, it’s fascinating for me to learn other countries’ culture.

87. I eat chocolate to cheer myself up.

88. I maybe talkative but I can keep a secret.

89. I am an environmentalist.

90. I don’t listen to the radio.

91. I am against same sex marriage but I don’t have anything against them (lesbians, gays, bisexuals) personally.

92. I love giving advices about heartaches.

93. I have a pretty good memory. I’m good in remembering names and can even recall even the littlest thing that happened to me ages ago.

94. Teaching is my passion.

95. I believe that the way you dress is one of the ways to express yourself.

96. There’s only one celebrity I’ll ask for an autograph, Wentworth Earl Miller III.

97. I never cheated on my boyfriend.

98. I always look at the eyes of the people I talk to.

99. I find this post refreshing because it brings back memories. And all of these are true. :)
